Everyone has heard the illusion that wisdom is the natural result of the process of aging.
But we all know this is not necessarily the case. It is merely another illusion that we were brought up believing – i.e., like “Social Security Provides for Our Retirement”.
There are as many ways of experiencing the aging process as there are individuals.
Aging forces a change in one or more of the identities – through which we identify ourselves… and are defined by society. While it is clear that physical limitations are a component of the aging process, less attention is given to how an individual deals with transitioning identities.
We live in a society where “medication” is the solution to everything. Less emphasis is given to alternatives that may benefit those who seek a more natural approach to resolution of some of the challenges of aging.
